Changes await in Rock Hill Symphony season. See just-announced show dates and times
School sports aren’t the only new seasons set to start fresh this fall. The Rock Hill Symphony is gearing up for a slate of performances into the new year.
Announced Friday, the sixth season starts Sept. 9 with a 7:30 p.m. performance of New Beginnings. Coleridge-Taylor’s Overture to Hiawatha and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 will highlight the show that also features Charlotte Symphony principal viola Benjamin Geller.
The show also is the inaugural performance for new conductor and music director Maestro Christopher James Lees. The resident conductor for the Charlotte Symphony will precede the Saturday show with a concert talk at 6:30 p.m.
Also new this year, the Rock Hill Symphony took patron feedback to find a more central venue. Performances will be held at the Sullivan Middle School auditorium on Eden Terrace.

A free educational concert introducing instrument families on stage, along with music by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius and more.
