Two killed, one hurt in head-on crash near Rock Hill, SC trooper says

Two people died and another person was hurt in a weekend head-on crash near Rock Hill.

The collision happened around 2 p.m. Saturday on S.C. 72, known as Saluda Road, near Autumn Wood Drive.

Both the driver and passenger in a 2009 Chevrolet SUV died after it hit a Volvo tractor-trailer, according to Master Trooper William Bennett of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The identities of the two people who were killed have not been released by the York County Coroner.

The truck driver was sent to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, Bennett said.
