Person in road dies after being hit by pickup truck near Rock Hill

A person on a road died after being hit by a truck Tuesday afternoon outside Rock Hill, officials said.

The crash happened around 5:40 p.m. on Reservation Road, said Master Trooper Brandon Bolt of the S.C. Highway Patrol. The area is in eastern York County near the Catawba River.

A 1980 Ford pickup heading south struck the person who was in the road, Bolt said. The name of the deceased has not yet been released by the York County Coroner.

The collision remains under investigation.
