Bicyclist dies after crash with Jeep near Lake Wylie in York County

A bicycle rider has died after a crash with a Jeep in York County near Lake Wylie.

The collision happened Tuesday night before 10 p.m. on S.C. 274 near Ross Brooke Trace, said Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The area is south of where S.C. 55 and S.C. 274 intersect, west of the lake.

The bicyclist who died at the scene has not yet been identified by the York County Coroner.

The driver of the 2019 Jeep was not injured, Ridgeway said.

The fatality remains under investigation.
