2 dead, 4 hurt in SC crash between Rock Hill and Lancaster, officials say
Two people died and four were hurt in a crash Wednesday night between Rock Hill and Lancaster, officials said.
The collision between a Ford pickup and an Audi happened around 7:40 p.m. at the intersection of S.C. 5 and S.C. 75, according to a statement from Master Trooper Hannah Davidson of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
S.C. 5, known as Rock Hill Highway, is a main route between York and Lancaster counties. The area of the crash is near the small town of Van Wyck east of the Catawba River.
Two of the four people in the truck died after the collision, Davidson said.
The names of the two people who died have not yet been released.
Two other people who were in the truck were transported to a hospital in Charlotte and the two people in the Audi were taken to a Rock Hill hospital, according to the Lancaster County coroner.
Officials have not identified the people who were transported or the extent of their injuries.
