York County Sheriff: Girl reunited with family after she was reported missing

Deputies in York County said a 15-year-old girl who had been reported missing earlier this week was safely reunited with her family on Friday.

Mehkiyah Kearney went outside her family home Wednesday around 5 p.m. and had not been seen by family members since, said Trent Faris, spokesman for the York County Sheriff’s Office.

She now is back with her family Friday and is safe, Faris said.

The last place she had been seen was near her home on Sedgewick Drive, Faris said. The area is off S.C. 160 near Tega Cay, south of Gold Hill Road.

Sheriff’s office deputies used the agency’s public Facebook and Twitter social media pages to put out a public plea for help in finding her.
