More than $1M in York County lottery wins this month. Where was the biggest yet?

Yet another big lottery win has hit on a York County ticket, this time in Fort Mill.

The South Carolina Education Lottery announced Friday a scratch-off ticket sold at the Country Store at 1800 Gold Hill Road hit worth $500,000. A Fort Mill woman won the prize. South Carolina lottery winners aren’t required to have themselves identified.

The woman won on a $10 ticket in the 200X game. Odds of that top prize are 1 in 800,000. The store received a $5,000 commission for selling the ticket.

The latest win comes after a string of local luck. A Super Bowl Sunday drawing won an Indian Land ticketholder $100,000 in the Palmetto Cash 5 game. The next day, a Rock Hill ticket won $200,000 in the same game. Earlier this month a Rock Hill man scratched off a $300,000 winner in the $10 Instant Jackpot game.

The lottery group also announced this week that time is almost up for someone to claim a $100,000 winner from last summer. Winners have 180 days to claim prizes. If no one brings the Aug. 28, 2021 ticket bought at Nichols Food Store in Clover by Feb. 24, the money will be deposited into educational program accounts.
