Dead body found in woods near Rock Hill. York County sheriff, coroner are investigating.
A death investigation is ongoing after a body was found in woods outside Rock Hill, according to York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson and coroner officials.
The body was found Sunday off Hathaway Drive, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office activity document.
Tolson confirmed the death investigation but no other details were released.
York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said in a statement to The Herald that identification testing is ongoing.
The area where the body was found is a residential section southeast of U.S. 21, also called Anderson Road, near Interstate 77.
Deputies, forensic officers and detectives and coroner officials responded to the scene after the body was found, reports show.
