Woman later dies after being struck by truck Saturday in Rock Hill, police say

A woman pedestrian was killed in a collision with a truck in Rock Hill, police said.

The woman died at Piedmont Medical Center after the crash Saturday afternoon on Dave Lyle Boulevard at the intersection of John Ross Parkway, the Rock Hill Police Department said.

The area of the collision is near Interstate 77, close to the entrance to the Manchester Village commercial area.

The woman, 50, has not been identified by the York County Coroner’s Office.

The woman was in the crosswalk on Dave Lyle Boulevard when she was struck by a pickup truck that was making a right turn, Rock Hill police Lt. Michael Chavis said.

The driver of the truck was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way, Chavis said in a written statement.

The collision remains under investigation by the police department’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team and the coroner’s office.
