2 dead, 1 injured in crash where vehicle went off the road in Chester County

Two people died and another was hurt in a crash Tuesday in Chester County, officials said.

The driver and one passenger died at the scene of the crash that involved a 2006 Hummer on S.C. 901, said Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The vehicle went off the road and overturned, Ridgeway said.

The identities of the two persons who died have not yet been released by the Chester County Coroner’s Office.

Another passenger was injured and taken to a Charlotte hospital, Ridgeway said. The condition of the person who was hurt was unavailable Wednesday morning.

The collision was near Edgemoor in northeastern Chester County, south of the York County line.

The wreck remains under investigation by the S.C. Department of Public Safety and the coroner’s office.
