SC pedestrian dies after collision with vehicle in Lancaster, officials say

A pedestrian was killed Monday night after a collision with a vehicle in Lancaster, officials said.

The person who died was identified Tuesday as Ryan Stevens, 34, of Lancaster, according to Karla Knight-Deese, Lancaster County Coroner.

Stevens died at the Medical University of South Carolina-Lancaster hospital, according to a statement from the coroner’s office.

The coroner’s office responded after 8 p.m. after the incident happened on Woodland Drive, officials said.

The driver of the vehicle stopped to render aid and called 911, the coroner statement said.

The collision remains under investigation, according to spokesperson Erin Tindal of the Lancaster Police Department, and the coroner’s office.
