A 32-year-old South Carolina man died Thursday in a rollover crash in western York County, officials said.

Samuel Thomasson Jr., of Sharon, died at the scene of the Hord Road crash, according to York County Coroner Sabrina Gast.

The 2010 SUV Thomasson was driving went off the road, hit a ditch and overturned, said Master Trooper Brandon Bolt of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The crash site is in a rural area west of York.

No details about what caused the vehicle to go off the road around 3:30 a.m. have been released. Troopers and the coroner’s office are investigating.
