Trial to begin in drug killing where victim was left in car trunk in Indian Land

The 2016 murder case against a Fort Mill man accused of killing a man in a drug deal, then leaving his body in a car trunk in Indian Land, is expected to start Monday.

The trial against alleged shooter David Kucinski in the death of Randy Tran is likely to include testimony from three others charged with murder, who agreed to plea deals earlier this month.

Nachon Hayden, 23, pleaded guilty earlier this month to armed robbery, court records show. Chris Glass, 23, and Tony Maynard, 22, pleaded guilty to misprision of a felony, records show.

In previous court hearings, prosecutors claimed Kucinski, 22, shot Tran, 20, during a drug robbery. He tried to cover up the crime and fled before being caught in Charlotte, prosecutors said.

Pre-trial motions are expected Monday, as well as jury selection. Opening arguments are expected Tuesday.
