Rock Hill fugitive charged in shooting that injured 2 people at bar near Carowinds

A Rock Hill fugitive has been arrested for shooting two people at a bar near Carowinds, according to police and court records.

Dontrell Spencer Harris, 31, was arrested late Wednesday, said Trent Faris, spokesman for the York County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s office detectives and deputies from the Special Operations Group located Harris during a traffic stop on Dave Lyle Boulevard near Interstate 77, Faris said.

Harris is charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, police and jail records show.

He could face as much as 65 years in prison if convicted on all charges, South Carolina law shows.

The shooting, at Drunken Goat bar on Sunday, injured two people, deputies said. The shooting happened after an argument near the bar’s pool tables, according to police incident reports. No motive for the argument or shooting has been released.

Harris as of Thursday morning was being held without bond at the York County jail for all pending charges.
