Man shot in Chester County; 2 charged in social media robbery plot, sheriff says

A man and a woman are charged in a robbery in Chester County where a teen was shot after the suspects used social media to target the victim, deputies said.

The victim, 19, was shot in the back and hand during the robbery Jan. 14 near a cellphone tower in Edgemoor near the Catawba River, said Max Dorsey, Chester County Sheriff.

Sammari De’Antrez McFadden, 25, of Lancaster, is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, armed robbery, and conspiracy, police and court records show.

Destiny Tikeyiah Mickles, 19, of Edgemoor, is charged with armed robbery, accessory to a felony before the fact, and conspiracy, according to police records.

The victim was airlifted by helicopter to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte after he was shot, Dorsey said. The victim, who has not been identified, was lured to the site online using social media, according to arrest warrants obtained by The Herald.

Mickles is accused of finding the victim on the Internet through social media, calling the victim, then driving McFadden away to escape after the shooting, according to the arrest warrants.

Mickles admitted her role in the plot to detectives, deputies said in the arrest warrants.

McFadden is accused of being the shooter who robbed the victim, Dorsey said. The victim was able to pick McFadden out of a police line-up, according to the arrest warrants.

Police have not released details about what was stolen in the robbery.
