Armed suspects rob 2 Lancaster stores near each other within minutes, police say
Police in Lancaster are asking the public for help after a pair of suspects robbed two Lancaster stores within minutes Tuesday night, officers said.
The Fuel Express store on Meeting Street was robbed shortly before 9 p.m. by two men, said Chief Scott Grant of the Lancaster Police Department. Minutes later, the 903 Discount beverage store on Chesterfield Avenue was robbed by two people believed to be the same suspects as in the first robbery, Grant said.
In both robberies one of the suspects pointed a gun at an employee, Grant said.
Lancaster police issued a public safety advisory on the robberies to alert residents about both incidents.
Surveillance video and witness accounts show the clothing worn by the suspects appears to be the same in both robberies where a gun was used to steal money, Grant said.
No injuries were reported, police said.
In both cases, the suspects fled the store on foot.
Anyone with information on the suspects or incidents is asked to call 911 or the Lancaster Police Department at 803-283-3313.
