3 charged, including brothers, in Lancaster armed robbery
A pair of brothers and a juvenile have been charged with armed robbery at a Lancaster County store, deputies said.
Reco Lamont Miller III, 17, his older brother, Reco Lamont Miller Jr., 20, and a 16-year-old juvenile each are charged with armed robbery of The Forks convenience store, said Barry Faile, Lancaster County Sheriff.
Reco Lamont Miller III also is charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime, Faile said.
Store employees were robbed at gunpoint on Jan. 26, Faile said. The store is at the intersection of Grace Avenue and Memorial Park Road in Lancaster.
On Tuesday morning, sheriff’s deputies, a Lancaster County SWAT team, juvenile justice officers, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security federal agents arrested two suspects, Faile said. The third suspect was arrested around noon Tuesday, Faile said.
Officers recovered a handgun believed to have been used in the robbery, Faile said.
Doug Barfield, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said Tuesday after the arrests that a school resource officer with the Lancaster Police Department helped deputies identify two of the suspects. Barfield declined to say what high school the resource officer is assigned to.
Reco Lamont Miller Jr. and Reco Lamont Miller III remain in the Lancaster County Detention Center, according to jail records.
Reco Lamont Miller III was denied bail Tuesday in an initial court appearance, court records show. Reco Lamont Miller Jr. has not yet made his first court appearance.
The juvenile was sent to a S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice detention center in Columbia.
