Teen shot in Rock Hill; investigation underway seeking shooter, police say

A Rock Hill teen was shot Sunday, police said.

The 16-year-old victim was shot during a confrontation around 4 p.m. on Cornelius Street, said Lt. Michael Chavis of the Rock Hill Police Department. The victim was found after the shooting at a home on Midvale Avenue, then taken to a hospital, Chavis said.

The victim’s injuries are not expected to be life-threatening, Chavis said.

The investigation showed there was a fight before the shooting, Chavis said. Several people were involved and fired guns, Chavis said.

Detectives are seeking a suspect, Chavis said. No arrests have been made.
