Cannon was taken into custody after 1 p.m. Tuesday, said Lt. John Rainier of the York County Multijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit.
After a traffic stop off Railroad Avenue in York, Cannon fled from officers in a car, Rainier said. Cannon was apprehended after one officer was assaulted, Rainier said.

After drug agents received a search warrant for a home in York, police recovered another 10 pounds of marijuana, Rainier said.
Cannon faces as much as 10 years in prison for each marijuana trafficking charge if convicted, South Carolina state law shows. Assault on an officer while resisting arrest carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, state law shows.
Cannon is being held in the York County jail without bond, records show.
