‘Innocent bystanders’: Two hurt outside Chester home in drive-by shooting

Two people police said were “innocent bystanders” were wounded in a drive-by shooting in Chester.

The shooting happened about 10 p.m. Saturday at a Brendale Drive home, said Eric Williams, Chester Police Department chief.

A man and woman were hospitalized and both underwent surgery, Williams said. One person remains in critical condition, he said.

The names and ages of the victims have not been released.

Williams said there was a small gathering at the house.

“It appears that both people who were hurt were innocent bystanders,” Williams said.

Williams did not release any other details about the shooting, citing the ongoing investigation by Chester police and other agencies.

No arrests have been made.
