SC authorities investigating the fatal shooting of man in Great Falls

Police in South Carolina are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Chester County, officials said.

The homicide happened around 11:30 p.m on Chester Avenue near a bar, said Great Falls Police Department Chief Steven Rice.

Chester County coroner Terry Tinker identified the victim as 33-year-old Martimothy McIlwain, from Lancaster, SC.

Tinker said the victim was shot multiple times and died at 11:35 Saturday night

Rice said his officers, Chester County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and State Law Enforcement Division agents went to the scene and worked collecting evidence through Sunday morning.

Chester County Sheriff Max Dorsey said the shooting death remains under investigation.

No arrests have been made.
