Three people were charged Wednesday night after York County drug agents seized meth and fentanyl while searching a home near Rock Hill, police said.

Officers served a search warrant at a home on Decatur Drive near Rock Hill and seized about 40 grams of meth and approximately five grams of fentanyl, said B.J. Kennedy, commander of the York County Mutijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid pain reliever that is 50-100 times more potent than morphine, according to the Centers for Disease Control website.

Methamphetamine is a powerful, highly addictive stimulant that affects the central nervous system, the federal drug abuse agency states.

Oliver is charged with trafficking meth, third offense, according to jail records. A conviction for trafficking meth third offense in South Carolina carries a mandatory 25 years in prison, state law shows.

Oliver was released on bond in February. He had been arrested and charged in December 2018 with attempted murder and weapons violations after a standoff with York County Sheriff’s Office deputies and a SWAT team, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Trent Faris and court records. Those 2018 charges remain pending, court records show.
