18-year-old dies after SC shooting. No arrest yet in homicide, police say

A Lancaster teen died after a shooting Wednesday night, according to police.

Jelani Jackson, 18, died after the shooting on Clinton Avenue at Medical University of South Carolina hospital in Lancaster, according to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.

Lancaster Police Department officers found Jackson shot before 8 p.m., the department said.

No arrests have been made as of Thursday afternoon.

No other details about the shooting have been released.

The case remains under investigation by Lancaster city police and the Lancaster County violent crimes unit.
