Charlotte police on Friday arrested a family member of a woman who died in a Rock Hill assault last month on murder charges.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested Anthony Lopez, 39, Rock Hill police said. Officials previously found Lisa Rosenzweig, 53, dead Nov. 9 at her Cauthen Street home after a welfare check, the York County Coroner said.

Rosenzweig had been hit in the head, according to Lt. Michael Chavis and a statement from the department. Detectives received a murder warrant against Lopez this week, Chavis said.

Police did not say where CMPD found Lopez in Charlotte. Rock Hill police said in the statement Lopez and Rosenzweig have a “familial relationship” but declined to give details.

Officials have not said how long Rosenzweig had been dead before she was found.

Lopez remains at the Mecklenburg County jail, pending extradition to South Carolina to be served the Rock Hill murder warrant.
