Rock Hill police are investigating after four people were shot at an apartment on Feb. 15.

One of the people wounded in a shooting Saturday night at a Rock Hill apartment has been charged with the attempted murder of one of the other people hurt in the gunfire, police said.

Rock Hill police charged Gregory Watts, 18, of Charlotte, with shooting a 27-year-old man who remains in critical condition at a hospital, Lt. Michael Chavis said.

Watts also faces a charge of possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was hit by gunfire during the shooting during a party in the 1700 block of Heather Square, police said.

Watts remains hospitalized and was denied bail Tuesday after a videoconference court hearing, Chavis said. Watts remains under police guard at a hospital and will be taken into custody when he is medically cleared to be, Chavis said.

Two others besides Watts and the 27-year-old were injured in the shooting. Those three people hurt have not been identified.

It remains unclear how many shooters there were or what the motive was. Police said the case remains under investigation but declined to release other details.

The area where the shooting happened is near Interstate 77 and U.S. 21 off Celanese Road.
