19-year-old shot in car in Rock Hill. He’s the 2nd teen shooting victim in 10 days
A 19-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries Monday night in a shooting outside a Rock Hill store, in the second shooting of a teen in a car in 10 days.
The victim in Monday’s shooting was in the passenger seat of a car outside Adams’s Grocery on Wilson Street before 10 p.m. when he was shot, Rock Hill Police Department Lt. Michael Chavis said. The victim has not been identified.
The investigation showed two men fired shots at a different man after following him out of the store, according to Chavis and a police department statement. The victim who had left the store was getting into the driver’s side of a vehicle when the passenger in the car was hit by the gunfire, Chavis said.
Police have not released if there is surveillance video of the shooting or any motive for the crime. The store is located just south of downtown Rock Hill.
No arrests have been made in Monday’s shooting.
Other teen died in separate case yet unsolved
On June 27, a 17-year-old driving on Finley Road died after an unknown assailant shot him. That case also remains active without arrest.
Police do not believe at this time the two shootings are related, Chavis said Tuesday.
Both shooting cases remain under investigation.
