Two South Carolina men were killed after a multi-vehicle crash in York County near Fort Mill, officials said.

Jose Julian Robles Gonzales, 25, and Marlon Raymundo Lanza Padilla, 24, died after the Tuesday collision on South Dobys Bridge Road that happened after 6:30 a.m., according to York County Coroner Sabrina Gast. Both men are from Lancaster.

Lanza Padilla died at the scene and Robles Gonzales died from his injuries at a Charlotte hospital after being airlifted by helicopter, Gast said.

Robles Gonzales was the driver and Lanza Padilla was the passenger in a 2011 Honda, S.C. Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brandon Bolt said.

The Honda crossed the center of the road and hit two other vehicles, according to the coroner and troopers. The drivers of the two other vehicles involved were not hurt, according to Bolt.

Dobys Bridge Road runs from Fort Mill southeast to the Indian Land area of Lancaster County. Fort Mill Police Department Capt. Steven Bivins said the crash was just outside the town limits.

Autopsies and toxicology remain pending as the coroner and S.C. Department of Public Safety investigate.
