Motorcyclist dies in York County crash. It’s the 4th cycle death in 3 weeks

A motorcycle driver has died in the fourth cycle fatality in York County in three weeks.

The latest fatal crash happened Thursday night before 8 p.m. on U.S. 321 between York and Clover. The driver of a 2023 Indian make motorcycle died after colliding with a 2011 Honda sedan, according to Sgt. Tyler Tidwell of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the two people in the Honda were transported to a hospital but their identities and extent of their injuries has not been released.

The name of the motorcyclist who died has not yet been released by the York County Coroner.

Three other motorcycle crashes in York County in July ended with riders dead.

On July 20, a Rock Hill man died when his motorcycle went off Porter Road outside Rock Hill.

A Fort Mill man died July 14 in a cycle crash off Dobys Bridge Road.

And on July 12, a York woman died after her motorcycle hit a tractor-trailer on U.S. 321 inside the city of York.

All four deadly crashes remain under investigation by state and local police.

Statistics on other motorcycle fatalities for York County so far in 2025 and for 2024 were not immediately available Friday.

But in all of 2023, the county had five fatalities in 29 crashes involving motorcycles for the entire year, according to the S.C. Department of Public Safety traffic collision fact book.
