One dead after Fort Mill shooting near NC state line, York County sheriff says

One person is dead after a shooting Sunday night in Fort Mill near the North Carolina state line, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was shot three times, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.

Deputies arrived at Lakeview Apartments on Flint Hill Road around 9:15 p.m. where officers found the victim inside. Detectives and forensics went to the scene and are continuing the investigation, but no arrests had been made as of Monday morning, said Trent Faris, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

Authorities are not looking for the shooter and there is no ongoing threat, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

No details about what led to the shooting have been released.

The shooting scene is near the intersection of U.S. 21 and S.C. 51, east of Carowinds Boulevard and just south of the state line with Pineville, N.C.
