A teenager died and another man was critically wounded in a shooting at an apartment complex Friday morning in Rock Hill, police said.

Officers responding to reports of gunfire at the apartments on Eden Terrace after 12:30 a.m. found the 18-year-old victim dead on the ground, the Rock Hill Police Department said in a statement. Police found the second victim, a 20-year-old male, inside an apartment with several gunshot wounds. He remains in critical condition at Piedmont Medical Center hospital.

The names of the two men who were shot have not been released.

No arrests have been made. The apartments are on the city’s north side near Interstate 77.

Despite one victim being found injured inside an apartment, both victims were shot outside in a common area of the complex, Rock Hill police Lt. Michael Chavis said.

Police do not believe the two victims shot each other, Chavis said. It is unclear if there was more than one shooter.

No other information has been released as detectives and crime scene forensic units continue the investigation.
