An 18-year-old South Carolina woman has died after being shot at an apartment complex in Lancaster over the weekend, police and coroner officials said.

The fatal shooting of a teen was the second in the Rock Hill region in two days. There’s no evidence that’s been released showing the two shootings are connected.

Officers found Evangeline Mancera, 18, dead before midnight Saturday after the shooting at Palmetto Place Apartments on Pardue Street, Lancaster Police Department Chief Don Roper said.

Roper said in a posting on the Lancaster police Facebook page the investigation remains ongoing, but no motive for the shooting or other details about what happened have been released.

The fatal shooting happened a day after 18-year-old Tyjah Brevard died after a shooting at apartments in Rock Hill where a 20-year-old was critically wounded.

No arrests have been made in either killing, according to Rock Hill Police Department Lt. Michael Chavis and Lancaster police spokesperson Erin Tindal.

The city of Lancaster is east of Rock Hill and south of the Ballantyne area of Charlotte.
