A Rock Hill man who was shot after Thanksgiving outside apartments where another man died has been arrested after police said he and the now-dead man tried to rob the man who shot them.

Jaquavious Marcel White, 20, was charged Thursday night with attempted armed robbery and conspiracy after he was released from the hospital, said Rock Hill Police Department Lieutenant Michael Chavis.

The Nov. 28 shooting happened in the parking lot of apartments on Eden Terrace near Interstate 77 in the northern part of Rock Hill.

Tyjah Brevard, 18, died at the scene after being shot, according to police and York County Coroner Sabrina Gast.

The investigation showed White and Brevard conspired to rob two other men and held them at gunpoint before one of the men shot both White and Brevard, according to Chavis and a statement from the police department.

The man who shot them, who has not been identified, has not been charged, Chavis said.

It remains unclear what the two allegedly were trying to steal from the victims.
