Two people from Charlotte have been identified after they were found dead near Lake Wylie in South Carolina in what is “believed to be a murder-suicide,” according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

The victims found near the boat landing along the South Carolina side of the lake were identified Tuesday as Glenda “Andria” Gregorio, 28, and Mario Gregorio-Arteago, 25, York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said Tuesday.

Deputies found the bodies around 9 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Blucher Circle, said Trent Faris, spokesman for the sheriff’s office. Mecklenburg County is across the lake from the scene close to S.C. 49 where the Buster Boyd Bridge connects North Carolina to South Carolina.

The boat landing is open to the public, according to the S.C. Department of Natural Resources. It was in use Monday and Tuesday after the incident.

The investigation into what happened and why is ongoing, the coroner’s office and Faris said Tuesday. No other details have been released, including if a weapon was involved or what relationship existed between the two people.
