Rock Hill police said a 33-year-old man was fatally shot April 17.

A 33-year-old man was fatally shot Friday, Rock Hill police said.

Officers found the man, who had been shot several times, after 11 a.m. outside a home in the 1400 block of Flint Hill Street, Lt. Michael Chavis said.

The area is just south of Heckle Boulevard near the city’s southern edge.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released by the York County Coroner.

Little about the shooting was known Friday afternoon. No arrests had been made. No motive for the killing has been released.

The killing is the first fatal shooting in the city since three people died in two unrelated shootings in February. On Feb. 18 a 4-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man died in a shootout at a Frank Street home, then on Feb. 20 a teen died in a shooting at a parking deck near downtown. Arrests were made in both those cases.
