York Technical College in Rock Hill launches second online winter semester

For the second year, students can take courses online at York Technical College this winter.

The college’s Wintermester, a four-week term offered online, runs Dec. 16 through Jan. 10, 2020, a release from the school states.

“We’re ecstatic to offer Wintermester again this year to York Tech students and other students from surrounding colleges who may need college credits,” Stacey Moore, executive vice president for academic and student affairs, said in a prepared statement. “Wintermester is unique in that it allows students to complete courses from home without having to step foot on campus and most of the courses are transferable to four-year colleges and universities.”

Students can choose from 25 online courses. Courses are $184 per credit hour, or $552 per course, for in-county students. Most fees are waived for Wintermester, the release states.

Students can choose from courses in business, arts and sciences, health and human services and industrial engineering technologies, according to York Tech.

Wintermester is open to current and new students, as well as visiting students from other colleges, according to York Tech. New students must complete enrollment to York Tech before signing up for Wintermester courses.

The deadline to register for courses is Dec. 13. For more information, visit yorktech.edu/winter2019 or call Enrollment Services at 803-327-8008.
