Farmer finds 30-year-old woman’s body on rural road, Arkansas cops say. Couple charged
A farmer stumbled upon the body of 30-year-old Ashley Monroe on a rural road in May, Arkansas police said, leaving her loved ones with questions.
“My heart is breaking,” her mother, Stacey Monroe, said in a May 22 Facebook post. “How could someone take her life as precious as it was?”
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office asked Arkansas State police to investigate Monroe’s death on May 21 after her body was found on a farm field road near Marianna, but it took more than two weeks for her family to get answers.
Dodge Pinegar, 24, and Shadee Edgin, 30 were arrested and charged with first-degree murder on June 7 in connection with Monroe’s death, Arkansas State Police said in a news release.
Police did not release the details of Monroe’s death.
Her mother said she’s thankful that the suspects were arrested, according to a June 8 Facebook post.
“Ashley brought joy and kindness to all those around her,” her obituary read. “Ashley found joy in the simplicity of life, whether it be hunting for deals at yard sales or spending quality time binge-watching her favorite shows with her cherished family,”
Marianna is about a 100-mile drive east from Little Rock.
