An elementary school teacher has been arrested. He is accused of hiding cameras in areas where kids would change, California officials said.

The arrest came after Santa Barbara County officers got reports of cameras in 54-year-old Steven Schapansky’s possession, according to a July 16 news release.

Schapansky of Goleta was a teacher at Santa Barbara Charter School, officials said.

He is accused of putting cameras in several places, including the school where he worked, officials said.

Steven Schapansky taught fifth and sixth grade, according to KTLA.

McClatchy News reached out to Santa Barbara Charter School on July 17 for a statement and was awaiting a response.

Schapansky was arrested on July 13 and booked for invasion of privacy with a recording device, according to the release .
