Need a ‘giant marshmallow’ in your life? Meet Hera, the best ‘fake guard dog’ around
A big fluff ball of a dog showed up to a Massachusetts animal shelter after her owner died. Now the huge pup needs a home.
Hera, a 5-year-old Great Pyrenees mix, weighs a whopping 112 pounds. Hera was surrendered to the Dakin Humane Society after her owned died, the shelter said in an Aug. 5 Facebook post.
“She’s a gentle giant who loves people, including kids,” the shelter said in the post.
“She enjoys life as a couch potato. As a classic Great Pyrenees, Hera makes a great ‘fake’ guard dog, as she’ll instinctively bark at passersby,” the post continued. “Her bark sounds loud and scary, even though she’s actually a giant marshmallow.”
According to her pet profile, Hera has lived with one dog before but isn’t all too keen on stranger dogs, which means she prefers to be the only dog in the household.
“She’s calm around them as long as they leave her alone, making walks and vet visits a breeze,” her profile says.
The Dakin Humane Society is in Springfield, about a 90-mile drive west from Boston.
