Dad shot in the face outside Kroger as he holds his 10-month-old baby, Ohio cops say
A father was shot while holding his baby outside a grocery store in Ohio, police say. He’s now recovering in a hospital.
Two men have been arrested and charged following the Sunday, Dec. 1, incident, according to the Whitehall Division of Police.
The department said the victim was holding his 10-month-old child in the parking lot of Kroger when he was approached by two men. One of the men began recording the incident on his phone while the other man fired multiple shots, police said.
The victim was shot in the nose and was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said. He told authorities his child was narrowly missed by one of the bullets.
The victim told police he knew the two men, though he hadn’t “seen them in several years.”
“According to police records, the father told officers that the two men were harassing his family while they were in the store and the shooting happened when they got outside,” WBNS reported, citing police records.
The accused shooter was charged with three counts of felonious assault and the other man was charged with three counts of complicity, police said. Jail records show they were both arrested Monday, Dec. 2.
Whitehall is an eastern suburb of Columbus.
