Texts sent to 9-year-old reveal man had sexually assaulted her for years, PA cops say
A Pennsylvania man is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl beginning when she was 6 years old, news outlets report.
Timothy Joseph Miller, 34, of Harrisburg faces nine felony charges, including rape of a child and deviate sexual intercourse with a child, court records show.
Attorney information for Miller was not available.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the child’s father found sexually explicit messages from Miller on his daughter’s cell phone in November and alerted authorities, WHP reported.
The girl told investigators Miller gave her the phone in June so that he could talk to her without her parents knowing, the outlet reported.
According to charging documents, Miller sexually assaulted the child at three different homes between 2021 and 2024, WHTM reported.
It is unclear if there is any connection between Miller and the victim.
The girl also told investigators Miller assaulted one of her friends who was visiting from out of town, WPMT reported.
Miller is being held at Dauphin County Prison and was denied bail, according to court records, which said he poses a danger to society.
He had previously been arrested and previously failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements, jail records said.
Miller also faces felony charges of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of a minor and two misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure, court records show.
He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing Jan. 8, according to court records.
