Cat found in ‘rough shape’ gets eye removed. ‘Sweet’ boy is up for adoption in Kansas
A cat with a “sweet disposition” is looking for a home after being found in “rough shape” in Kansas, an animal shelter said.
The furry friend named Glen Purrowell was found Dec. 10 and had clear injuries to his face, neck and jaw, according to a Jan. 21 Facebook post by the Helping Hands Humane Society.
Although the little guy was injured, he is “still as sweet as can be,” the Topeka-based shelter said on Facebook.
After being medically evaluated, officials gave him medication for his pain and saw he showed signs of upper respiratory infection, staff said.
After the infection cleared up, two shelter veterinarians removed his right eye that was sunken in and no longer working, the shelter said.
Personnel performed a dental cleaning and also repaired his broken jaw. Now his jaw is healing and officials are waiting to remove his suture in about a month, according to the humane society.
Glen Purrowell is up for adoption and anyone interested should meet him at the shelter, officials said.
Topeka is about a 60-mile drive west of Kansas City.
