Man poses as religious doorknocker to sexually abuse teen at home, PA officials say
A 53-year-old man accused of driving to a teen’s home with plans to sexually abuse her was arrested, Pennsylvania officials said.
In January, Oscar Castillo-Peralta, of Pleasantville, New Jersey, started talking to who he believed to be a 13-year-old on KIK, a social media app, according to a Feb. 20 Facebook post by the Bensalem Police Department.
After texting for a few weeks, the conversations became sexual, and Castillo-Peralta started sending nude photos to the teen, officials said.
He also texted her about his “desire to perform sexual acts on her and have her perform sexual acts on him,” officers said.
He agreed to meet at her home in Bensalem, about a 70-mile drive northwest from his home, officials said.
Castillo-Peralta went to the girl’s home, where she was alone, and he posed as a religious door-to-door solicitor, officials said. He planned to knock on neighbors’ doors so no one was suspicious of why he was in the area, officials said.
On Feb. 19, he arrived at the girl’s home, wearing a suit and carrying religious material, before he was arrested, officials said.
He was charged with attempted involuntary sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and related offenses, officers said.
Anyone with information about other juveniles who may have had contact with Castillo-Peralta is asked to call 215-633-3719, officials said.
Bensalem is about a 20-mile drive northeast of Philadelphia.
