33-year-old woman likely drowned in river, Montana cops say. Her dog is also missing
Police believe a missing 33-year-old woman likely drowned in a river in Montana.
Danit Ehrlich was last known to be “in the area of” a dog park in Missoula on the morning of Feb. 21, the Missoula Police Department said in a post the next day on Facebook.
“All available resources” helped search for her and her dog, Bamba, police said.
But, “through the course of our investigation, it has been determined that Danit has likely drowned in the Clark Fork River,” police said in a Feb. 23 update on Facebook. The dog park is on the river.
Authorities “remain committed to bringing closure to her family,” and “recovery efforts will continue as conditions allow,” according to police.
Meanwhile, Bamba remains missing, and police are asking anyone who spots the dog to reach out.
Ehrlich was headed to Washington from Colorado, KPAX reported.
A friend said in a Facebook post that Ehrlich was traveling for a new job.
Missoula police said “our hearts go out to her family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We extend our deepest condolences as they navigate this profound loss.”
