An Arkansas man is facing charges after police say a pursuit led to officers discovering a body inside his home, news outlets report.

Officers responded to a call about a man causing a disturbance in a Hot Springs Village neighborhood, running around and shouting, at about 5 p.m. Thursday, June 12, police told KTHV.

But when police arrived at the scene, they say the man — later identified as 54-year-old Stephen Gantz — was driving away in a black SUV, the station reported. Officers tried to pull the driver over but he wouldn’t stop, kicking off a high-speed chase, police said.

Police said Gantz led “officers on a lengthy and dangerous pursuit,” then went back to his home on Nacozari Lane, which is where he was causing the earlier disturbance, The Sentinel-Record reported.

Police say officers found a woman’s body in the home and arrested Gantz , KATV reported. He’s facing charges of murder and fleeing, police said.

Investigators haven’t shared the woman’s identity but said there is “an active and ongoing investigation. Further details will be released as appropriate,” the Sentinel-Record reported.

Hot Springs Village is about a 50-mile drive southwest from Little Rock.
