Line-cutting clash at Pokemon card sale leads to stabbing, California cops say
A dispute over accusations of line-cutting to buy Pokemon cards at a game shop led to a stabbing, California police reported.
The incident took place at a GameStop in Colma in the San Francisco Bay Area at 9:22 a.m. Saturday, July 5, police said in a news release.
A man waiting in line to buy Pokemon cards accused another man of cutting ahead of him, police said. An argument broke out.
The accused line-cutter hit the first man in the back of the head with a glass Mason jar, which shattered, police said.
A third man picked up broken shards of glass and began stabbing the first man, police said. The two accused attackers fled in separate vehicles but were later found and arrested.
Isaiah Calles, 27, and Miguel OrellanasFlores, 49, both of San Francisco, face charges of assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, battery with serious bodily injury and conspiracy to commit a crime, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. He was reported in stable medical condition.
An investigation into the incident continues. Detectives ask anyone with information to call 650-997-8321.
Colma is about a 10-mile drive southwest from San Francisco.
