Early voting opens across the Rock Hill region. What you need to know to vote
Residents across the Rock Hill region can vote in person for their next city and town officials on Monday, Oct. 20, with the start of early voting.
Four sites each in York County and Lancaster County will open for early voting. Chester County has one site. Polls are open 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, through Oct. 31. Registered voters can go to any open site within the county where they live. They will need a photo ID to vote.
York County voters can choose from The Thread (220 W. White St.) or Clinton College Library (1029 Crawford Road) in Rock Hill, Carolinas Cornerstone Church (1790 Gardendale Road) in Fort Mill and the York County Fire Training Center (2500 McFarland Road) in York.
Lancaster County has sites at the Del Webb Library (7641 Charlotte Hwy.) and Indian Land Recreation Annex (8286 Charlotte Hwy.) in Indian Land, the County Voter Registration Office (101 N. Main St.) in Lancaster and Kershaw Second Baptist Church (7737 Kershaw Camden Hwy.) in Kershaw.
Chester County voters can use the County Voter Registration Office at 109 Ella St. in Chester.
A state driver’s license, ID card from the Department of Motor Vehicles, state concealed weapons permit, U.S. passport, federal military ID or state voter registration card with photo all work for the photo ID requirement.
Rock Hill, Fort Mill, York, Clover and Tega Cay are just some of the communities with city or town council seats on the ballot this fall. Tega Cay also will elect a new mayor. The full list of candidates across three counties is available here.
