Democratic presidential hopeful Cory Booker is back in Rock Hill, other SC towns
Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Cory Booker will return to Rock Hill Friday.
The U.S. Senator from New Jersey will speak at the Rock Grove African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church at 7:30 p.m., according to his campaign’s website. He will make stops in Walterboro, Allendale and Columbia on Saturday.
Thirteen Democratic presidential hopefuls, including Booker, have campaigned in Rock Hill this year.
Booker first came to Rock Hill in March 2019, and was one of the first candidates to come here. He spoke at Platinum Cuts Barbershop and at Freedom Temple.
That same week, former U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke, who withdrew from the presidential race in November, and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg met with supporters in Rock Hill.
U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell, who withdrew from the race in July, and U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, who withdrew from the race in December, campaigned in April.
In June, U.S Sen. Bernie Sanders spoke at Clinton College. Former Vice President Joe Biden visited in August. California billionaire Tom Steyer, Sanders — again — and U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren made stops in September. Buttigieg returned in October and self-help author Marianne Williamson visited the next day. Former Navy admiral Joe Sestak spoke at Winthrop.
Then, tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang, Williamson — again — and former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick met with supporters in November.
