Charlotte, the North Carolina celebrity stingray whose pregnancy went viral last month, made her TV debut on this past weekend’s episode of “Saturday Night Live.”
The stingray’s pregnancy caught the attention of millions last month when it was revealed that she had not shared a tank with any male stingrays. Experts believe she was impregnated through parthenogenesis, a form of reproduction where an egg can develop into an embryo without being fertilized.
But Charlotte, played by cast member Ego Nwodim, appeared alongside Michael Che for an interview during SNL’s “Weekend Update” – and she had a new theory about who the father of her pups could be.
