Tuesday washout? Rain again for York, Chester, Lancaster, localized flooding possible
York, Chester, and Lancaster counties could see as much as two inches of rain Tuesday, forecasters said.
Localized flooding in some areas is possible, according to a hazardous weather alert from the National Weather Service.
A forecast map for the area shows steady rain through Wednesday morning for York County, with areas closer to the North Carolina border forecast to receive the most wet weather.
Commuters to work in Charlotte can expect rain both in the morning and afternoon Tuesday, according to the forecast.
The expected rain comes after separate rain events in the past two weeks. Some York County roads, including U.S. 321 between York and Clover in a construction area, flooded during more than two inches of rain from the remnants of Hurricane Sally in mid-September.
Wednesday the rain is expected to end, with noticeably cooler temperatures in the 60s. Thursday through the weekend is expected to be sunny, according to the weather service.
