Rock Hill edges Catawba Ridge

The Rock Hill Bearcats edged the Catawba Ridge Copperheads 29-25 in a non-region game at Rock Hill Tuesday night.

The Copperheads took a 9-4 lead after one period, but Rock Hill cut it to 13-11 at halftime. The ‘Cats used a solid third quarter performance to take a 23-15 lead when it was over. They held off a Copperheads’ rally in the final eight minutes to earn the win.

Jada Jones and Mya Wise led Rock Hill with eight points each. Victoria Jordan was the top scorer for Catawba Ridge with a game-high 10 points.

Rock Hill is 6-3 on the year, while Catawba Ridge is 7-3.

Charlotte Latin routs Northwestern

Charlotte Latin routed Northwestern 48-10 in a non-region game at Charlotte Latin Tuesday night.

The Trojans are 1-6 on the year.

Nation Ford rips Lancaster

The Nation Ford Falcons ripped the Lancaster Bruins 77-38 in a non-region game at Lancaster Tuesday night.

The Falcons bolted to an 18-8 lead after one quarter and never let up. They were in front 32-9 at halftime and cruised from there for the victory.

York Prep blasts Lewisville

The York Prep Patriots blasted the Lewisville Lions 49-18 in a non-region contest at York Prep Tuesday night.

The Patriots led 12-6 after one period and upped the count to 21-11 at intermission. They outscored Lewisville 28-7 in the second half to complete the win.

Taylor Southall paced the Patriots with 17 points and six rebounds. Allie Keels led the Lions with eight points and a dozen rebounds.

York Prep is 3-4, while Lewisville is 1-7.

South Pointe tops Nation Ford

The South Pointe Stallions topped the Nation Ford Falcons 55-47 in a non-region game at South Pointe Wednesday night.

Najah Lane led the Stallions with 12 points. Trinity Adams joined her in double figures with 10.

The Stallions are 8-0 on the year, while the Falcons are 7-4.

Broome defeats Chester

Broome defeated the Chester Cyclones 32-21 in a non-region game at Broome Wednesday night.

Chester is 5-1 on the year.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Rock Hill topples Catawba Ridge

The Rock Hill Bearcats defeated the Catawba Ridge Copperheads 53-37 in a non-region game at Rock Hill Tuesday night.

The ‘Cats broke an 11-11 tie after one period and took a 21-19 lead at halftime. A strong third quarter propelled the Bearcats to a 36-23 advantage. They outscored the Copperheads 17-14 in the final period to complete the victory.

Shane Blakeney led Rock Hill with 13 points. Donte Evans added eight to the winning effort.

Rock Hill is 4-5 on the year, while Catawba Ridge is 3-5.

Charlotte Latin defeats Northwestern

Charlotte Latin took a 41-30 lead at halftime and held off a Northwestern rally to defeat the Trojans 76-64 in a non-region game at Charlotte Latin Tuesday night.

The Trojans cut the deficit to four with just under four minutes remaining, but Charlotte Latin pulled away from there to record the win.

A. J. Thompson led Northwestern with 19 points. Mason Grigg and Qua Allison added 12 each.

The Trojans are 4-3 on the year.

Lancaster tops Nation Ford

The Lancaster Bruins defeated the Nation Ford Falcons 44-39 in a non-region game at Lancaster Tuesday night.

The Bruins led 16-9 at half and 24-16 after three periods. The Falcons made a run in the final eight minutes, but fell short.

Petey Tuipulotu led the Falcons with 14 points.

Nation Ford is 3-8 on the year.

York Prep routs Lewisville

The York Prep Patriots routed the Lewisville Lions 76-29 in a non-region game at York Prep Tuesday night.

D. J. Barksdale led the Patriots with 22 points. Kory Davis added 16, and Aaron Johnson scored 12. Kendall Davis chipped in 10 points to the winning effort.

York Prep is 4-3 on the year, while Lewisville is 4-2.

Chester topples Broome

The Chester Cyclones topped Broome 72-50 in a non-region game at Broome Wednesday night.

The Cyclones took a 17-11 lead after one period and were in front 37-26 at halftime. Broome closed it to 46-39 after three quarters, but the Cyclones pulled away in the final eight minutes to get the win.

Chester is 5-1 on the year.
